As someone fully entrenched in Bitcoin technology for almost 3 years now, I constantly evaluate emerging products, services, and businesses I see building on Bitcoin SV.
2021 was an exciting year in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space which brought soaring asset valuations for both publicly traded crypto assets and private equity. Unbounded Capital believes the strong foundations laid in Bitcoin SV in 2021 will support enormous value creation in 2022 and beyond.
April 15, 2011 was one of the most disappointing days of my young life. It’s a date without much meaning to most, but for poker players it is known as Black Friday. Why? It is the day that the U.S. Department of Justice issued indictments against the three largest online poker sites in America - Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, and Absolute Poker.
Exchange users face the same conundrum that poker players do, but with greater severity. The amount of funds a poker player will want to use is relatively predictable, but many traders can’t rule out the possibility of a trade which demands significant capital relative to what would otherwise be in the market on a risky exchange.
A verifiable electronic voting paradigm would also provide another key piece of currently disputed information with near 100% integrity: the number of votes that were cast. These are only a few ways that a new cryptographically informed voting paradigm could improve election integrity for everyone regardless of any tribal political affiliations.
In the midst of a contentious debate over election integrity, it’s hard to imagine actionable solutions that could be acceptable to both sides of the political divide. Could a Bitcoin-influenced cryptographic improvement to our election processes possibly provide a solution that satisfies both sides?
The degree to which accusations of fraud are flung around the Bitcoin world is disappointing. The price of this confusion will be felt acutely by few, but will impact far more through its delay of a transformative technology’s progress. Unfortunate as it may be, there is no doubt that fraud exists. Of course, scams of various sorts have been a constant feature of the early Bitcoin/blockchain industry, an industry that is very attractive to the “fast money” crowd. But, none of these are the fraud of the century.
