First Annual Unbounded Summit

Unbounded Capital held our inaugural annual Unbounded Summit on Thursday, September 8th with over 150 attendees, located at the Dream Hotel hotel in New York City.

 
 

In attendance were many of our limited partners, prominent venture and hedge fund managers, fintech and blockchain entrepreneurs, and institutional + family office investors. The attendees were treated to a keynote speech, entrepreneur talks, panel discussions, mingling and meals, and even a fireside chat with former Treasurer of the United States, Rosie Rios.   • James is an engineer, entrepreneur, and ardent supporter of Satoshi Nakamoto's original vision for Bitcoin. He is a co-founder and CEO of Tokenized. He is also the creator of the award-winning Tokenized Protocol, an open-source token and smart contract system for the Bitcoin SV network. He is committed to building universal and easy-to-use tools that help make Bitcoin's value accessible to society at large. James is also a founding member of the Bitcoin Association's Technical Standards Committee.

    Brandon is a software engineer for HandCash and is leading the Tokenization development. Brandon is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Hampshire teaching about Bitcoin and Blockchains.

  • Founder, Chairman & CEO of Qenta

    Mr. de Jong has over 20 years of experience leading successful business transformations and transitions. He also has broad expertise investing in technology, infrastructure, financial services, and emerging markets. He worked at JPMorgan in its financial institutions group in London, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the emerging markets of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in the structured finance group in New York. Mr. de Jong earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Georgetown University.

    Mr. De Jong was seconded to Ashmore Energy International in 2006, where he served as chief executive officer and vice chairman of the board of directors until 2009. He led the consortium of shareholders that founded Ashmore Energy International in 2005, from Enron International, and negotiated the break-up and sale of AEI’s assets in 2011 for an aggregate price of $4.8 billion.

 
  • Joe was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. After spending 4 years playing professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox farm system, he co-founded his first venture, Barpay, in 2015 with Daniel Wagner. The company has since grown to become a leader in contactless solutions for in-venue dining at bars, restaurants, and hotels, with more than 10,000 accounts globally.

    In January 2021, along with Wagner, he co-founded Haste, and released the Haste Arcade, the world's first Instant Leaderboard Payout™ (ILP™) arcade. The arcade demonstrates the utility of blockchain technology such as micro payments, tokens, and NFTs, through fun and simple games and experiences. Joe has been a guest panelist and speaker on numerous blockchain podcasts and conventions around the world.

Prior to Ionia, he founded Discount Payment Services, a payment services company servicing more than 5,000 companies processing billions of electronic payments and generating millions in profits.

  • Brenton is the creator of Run, a framework to build apps and tokens on Bitcoin SV using JavaScript. The most scalable blockchain meets the most popular programming language. Run powers several leading apps on BSV today and has created over 400M transactions since its release from a range of applications including games, NFTs, music, and more. Brenton brings experience from Snap and Microsoft where he shipped products at scale to hundreds of millions of people, created great user experiences, built platforms, and lead teams.

 
  • Partner at Omakase Strategy of Recharge Capital

    Jasmine is the General Partner of Omakase Digital Assets Investment Funds which includes a market neutral trading portfolio and a crypto venture investment portfolio.

    Previously, Jasmine oversaw business development, strategic planning, and operations of the investment products business unit at BlockFi, one of the largest cryptocurrencies financial services companies in the US. Prior to joining BlockFi, Jasmine had over ten years of experience at EY working with registered and unregistered funds, insurance companies, and banks in audit and advisory capacities. Her experience included assisting alternative fund managers in launching their first crypto investment funds. Jasmine advised several startup companies that build the next generation digital platforms by leveraging blockchain technology. She is also one of the founding members of Wharton Digital Assets Club.

    Jasmine received her Bachelor of Finance from Sun Yat-sen University and Master of Business Administration from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Alexey Mashchenkov is one of the founders of DXS – CFD (contract-for-difference) trading platform built on BSV.     Alexey is an experienced finance professional and serves as a corporate advisor for DXS as well as CFO for a NASDAQ listed fintech company.

  • Isaac Morehouse has founded multiple companies in the tech and careers spaces, is a prolific writer and podcaster with 10 books and over 3,000 articles and episodes published. He's been a fan and student of Bitcoin since 2012 and has hosted dozens of popular conversations on micro and nanopayments, distributed data, and the future of money. He has a knack for bringing big ideas down to earth and creating narratives the non-techies can understand.

    One of the world’s leading blockchain advocates, Jimmy Nguyen is Founding President of the Switzerland-based global industry organization that supports the BSV blockchain. With 21 years’ experience as an intellectual property & digital technology lawyer, Jimmy is well-suited to support enterprise-level adoption of blockchain technology. Jimmy was a partner at three major U.S. law firms – most recently Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, where he represented multinational corporations and emerging companies in a wide range of sectors –including Amazon, Microsoft, Uber, the industry consortium for Blu-ray encryption technology to name a few.

  • CIO of the Coruscant Family Office

    Dr. Kurt Overley is the CIO of the Coruscant family office. He spent two decades working on options and derivative trading desks at various large banks: Credit Suisse FP, Zurich Capital Markets, BNP Paribas, and HSBC. He has served as the CIO and Chief Risk Officer for large family offices: Ranger Capital and Harbourton Enterprises. He purchased minority GP equity stakes in quantitative trading businesses as a partner at White Oak Equity. Dr. Overley has a B.S. in mathematics and physics from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Rice University.

    Rosie Rios is the CEO of Red River Associates, an investment management consulting firm, and co-host of Unicorn Hunters, a reality series focused on pre-IPO investments. She was appointed by President Joe Biden as Chair of America 250, the United States Congressional Commission planning the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding in 2026. She served as the 43rd Treasurer of the United States with oversight over 4,000 employees and a $5 billion budget. She also initiated and led the efforts to place a portrait of a woman on U.S. currency. Prior to her presidential appointment in Treasury, she was Managing Director of Investments for MacFarlane Partners, a $22 billion real estate investment management firm based in San Francisco.

    She is a graduate of Harvard University and was selected as the first Latina in Harvard’s 385-year history to have a portrait commissioned in her honor. She currently serves on the board of American Family Insurance, Ripple Labs, Inc., and Fidelity Charitable Trust. Her personal passion includes EMPOWERMENT 2026, a non-profit that highlights historical American women and women in positions of money and power. Rosie is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was honored as one of USA Today’s Women of the Century. Most recently, Rosie served on the Treasury Transition Team on behalf of President Joe Biden.

    Community service is an integral part of Ray’s business philosophy. Ray has served 4 years on the Ontario Judicial Council, oversight body for the judicial system; another 6 years of service at the Royal Ontario Museum, as a member of the Board of Trustees; as an advisor to the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario on open data strategy. Ray authored a chapter with the CIO of the Government of Canada on the role of 5G on citizen services. Ray is the founder and leader of national hackathon competitions Great Canadian Appathon, Canadian Open Data Experience (CODE), as well as charitable organization Hackergal. Ray serves on the Technical Advisory Committee of Duality Accelerator, the first program in the US focused on quantum science and technology.

    Previously Ray spent 10 years on Bay/Wall Street within investment banking research. During that period Ray was the top-ranked wireless technology analyst based on Greenwich and Brendan Woods International surveys of fund managers for 5 of 8 eligible years. The highly specific job title in 2001 at Credit Suisse First Boston of Vice President, Mobile Internet Devices and Applications, reflects a long term professional focus in mobile. Ray was uniquely able to remain top-ranked during both the mania of the bull market but also subsequently in the severe bear market correction of that era.
